Primed and Ready!

Well my little lovelies, today we are going to discuss the importance of primer.

Everything that is painted-a wall, furniture, a car, etc-needs a primer. A primer creates tooth, in other words, something for the paint to hold on to! A primer also creates a seal to protect the surface, be it wood or metal.

Your skin needs a primer also if you plan on painting it. Think of your face as the wall and your foundation as the paint! You will need a primer to do one of a few things:

First, a primer can provide something for the foundation to stick to. When you apply primer, your foundation will adhere to the primer instead of sliding away or settling in with your moisturizer.

Second, a primer can protect the surface by locking in any moisturizer you have already applied. Also, instead of your foundation sitting on your skin and settling into your pores, it will "float" on top of it with the primer. Your foundation will last longer!

Third, a primer can provide some benefits for the skin:

Pore Perfecting Face Primer
If you have oily skin, a primer such as Little Goddess Pore Perfecting Face Primer, can mattify the skin and control the oilies. Our Pore Perfecting Face Primer contains Salicylic Acid to fight acne and keep skin smooth. Remember to use sun protection as BHA's can leave your skin sun sensitive!

RetexturCREME Face Primer

If you have dry skin, a primer such as LittleGoddess RetexturCREME Face Primer can provide an additional layer of moisture. Especially good for the dry winter months!

Retextur Face Primer

Little Goddess Retextur Face Primer with SPF 20 is good for all skin types. This virtually weightless serum contains opalescent light reflectors that diminish lines and leaves a translucent effect on the skin. Antioxidant Vitamins A and E seal in moisture, creating the smoothest possible base for foundation.

Primers can also be worn alone to smooth out the appearance of your skin! I like to spot prime-I like to use the Retextur SPF 20 to prime my cheeks and the delicate area under my eyes so concealer goes on smoothly. Sometimes, in the summer, if I feel a bit shiny, I will use the Pore Perfecting Primer to keep the shine off my forehead!

So ladies, if you have been having problems getting your makeup to stay on, visible pores, shininess or dryness, a primer might be just the thing you need to prepare your skin for all day perfection!

Happy Prepping and Priming!
